I think its a Mizpah necklace....representing the separation of two people deeply intertwined such as Jacob & Laban.
A friend and I were separated as young teens and we exchanged Mizpah necklaces. It was the cool thing to do back then.

Being separated from loved ones is tough.
Our military receive alot of attention on this issue. The absence of a parent, a spouse, friend can be extremely hard.

Praying for others....especially those close to us during times of separation is called intercessory prayer.
Interceding to God for another.

We can say upon the separation of a fellow Christian;
Till we meet here...there...or in the air....
