Coldplay - In My Place

2 Samuel 11
New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)

11 In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king’s men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.

One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, “Isn’t this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite?” Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her. (She had purified herself from her uncleanness.) Then[a] she went back home. The woman conceived and sent word to David, saying, “I am pregnant.”

In my place, in my place,
Were lines that I couldn't change,
I was lost, oh yeah.

I was lost, I was lost,
Crossed lines I shouldn't have crossed,
I was lost, oh yeah.

Yeah, how long must you wait for it?
Yeah, how long must you pay for it?
Yeah, how long must you wait for it?

Everyone knows what it feels like to cross over lines that shouldn't be crossed.
King David sure knew that well.

Not only did he make a fool of himself...he remained blinded to his mistake. It wasn't until the bold and devout prophet Nathan, who pointed out his transgression, did he recognized the ginormous sin and error of his ways.

Davids path toward repentance is clearly noted. His future leadership, although questioned by his sin, grew stronger and wiser. He confessed his sin and learned the lessons from obedience.....and disobedience.

Out of wrong....but through repentance....Bathsheba became the mother to the second greatest king in Israels history...Solomon. GRACE IS GREATER THAN ALL OUR SIN

God can use every part of you...mistakes and all...once we humble ourselves before Him.
Recognizing our sin and the need for the Lords help is key to growth.
