Twisted Logic - Coldplay

1 John 2
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Created, then drilled and invaded
If somebody made it
Someone will mess it up
And you are not wrong to
Ask who does this belong to?
It belongs to all of us

You'll go backwards, again
You'll go forwards, again
Twisted Logic; a reference to the world with all of its messed up, meaningless, systems and programmes.

Scripture talks about two roads. All mankind travels on one of the two. The broad road is the one most traveled. Everybody seems to be on the broad road. The other is a narrow street that leads to eternal life. Very few are on this pathway. The bigger road leads to destruction; however, it is the more popular thoroughfare and much easier to follow.

Examine the path your on.
A child of God follows the road less traveled. As a follower of Christ, we don't buy into all the promises and allusions of the world. The treasures for a child of God are in heaven. This is not our home, we are only passing through.

Follow Christ. The rewards are "out  of this world"

Coldplay - A Whisper

Isaiah 30
21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Night turns to day

And I still have these questions
Bridges will break
Should I go forwards or backwards
Night turns to day
And I still get no answers
Just a whisper, a whisper, a whisper
A whisper, a whisper, a whisper

Does God speak to His people?
Absolutely...!

Is it in an audible voice?
No...Its louder than that.

God the Father communicates to His children through...
His word & His spirit

The spirit and Gods holy word are in agreement. Our spiritual conscience is quickened by truth. When the Father communicates to us it is affirmed by His word and confirmed by the spirit.

1 Kings 19:11-12.....Then he was told, “Go, stand on the mountain at attention before God. God will pass by.”
A hurricane wind ripped through the mountains and shattered the rocks before God, but God wasn’t to be found in the wind; after the wind an earthquake, but God wasn’t in the earthquake; and after the earthquake fire, but God wasn’t in the fire; and after the fire a gentle and quiet whisper.

Hearing and listening to God is refined by walking in the spirit and growing in His word.
Hearing the whispers of God brings assurance and comfort.

Listen for Him

'Til Kingdom Come - Coldplay

Luke 22

15 And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”
17 After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. 18 For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”

For you I'd wait 'til kingdom come

Until my day, my day is done
And say you'll come and set me free
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me

In your tears and in your blood
In your fire and in your flood
I hear you laugh, I heard you sing
I wouldn't change a single thing

Hummmm...powerful spiritual imagery in these words. Till kingdom come; in your fire; in your flood...Ps.66:12...We traveled through fire and through floods, but you brought us to a land of plenty.

Jesus made a promise to all believers, "...till kingdom come."
The verses are taken from the passover meal that our Lord shared with His disciples.

During this meal, He initiated a special ceremony that we call communion.
He took the bread and the wine and said these elements represent my body and my blood that is sacrificed for the sin of the world.

After communion He instructed the disciples to do this in remembrance of Him; however, He would not partake of it again until He could share it with all of us in heaven, "...Till Kingdom Come."

That is very special
You can know the intimacy of His fellowship by calling out to Him now.

Coldplay - Yellow Live in Sydney 2003

John 3:16

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His [a]only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Your skin

Oh yeah your skin and bones

Turn into something beautiful
You know you know I love you so
You know I love you so

I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh what a thing to do

Cause you were all yellow

If a guy says I love my dog....and I love my wife...he better be referring to two different kinds of love.

The Bible explains at least three different kinds of love.
Phileo - Which is brotherly love. Philadelphia is the city of brotherly love
Airos - Refers to sexual passion. It is where we derive the word erotic.
Agape - Means un-conditional, sacrificial love.

The depth of Gods love for you and me was expressed on the cross when Christ willingly gave His life to atone for our sins.

Romans 5:8

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

When you love another with the agape of God; it is a covenant for better or worse; richer or poor'er; in sickness or in health.

Unconditional agape love delights in being reciprocated....but it is not required.

Even though we were at our worst....Christ loved us and died for us.
Because of His example and His Holy Spirit living in me....I can love others just like my Savior

1 John 3:16

New Living Translation (NLT)
16 We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.

Mumford & Sons - Lover Of The Light

John 3
19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”[h]

So love the one you hold

And I will be your gold
To have and to hold
A lover of the light

It appears that Mumford & Sons have taken to the use of spiritual references in many of their lyrics as well.

The use of this video is equally powerful and has strong biblical symbolism.

Light is referred to throughout scripture as representing the upright, holiness, salvation, and even God himself.
The radiant glory of God, called Shekinah in the Greek, is portrayed in the bible as a light that is more radiant than the sun.

God....is light
The opposite of God....is darkness.

To be void of God is to be in the dark.
To sin against Him is to revel in the darkness.

Evil things creep out at night; sinfulness and shameful deeds of mankind.
The light of the world is Jesus Christ.
His light is to guide us out of the shadows and into His marvelous light; true joy, beauty, fulfillment, promise.

1 Peter 2:9

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nationa people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

Love the light! When you have passion for the light of His love....God Will Put A Smile Upon Your Face.

Coldplay - One I Love

Psalm 139:7-10 & 13-16
Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know [a]when I sit down and [b]when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar.
You [c]scrutinize my [d]path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
[e]Even before there is a word on my tongue,
Behold, O Lord, You know it all.
You have enclosed me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is too high, I cannot attain to it.
Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in [f]Sheol, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the dawn,
If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand will lead me,
And Your right hand will lay hold of me.

Could you, could you come back

Come back together

Put yourself on the band

And see us forever

Could you, could you come home
Come home forever
Surely things in the band
Keep us together

Cause you're the one I love
You're the one I love
You're the one I love
Ahhhh, ahhhh

One I Love could be sung as a declaration to our need for God.
God the Father is the author of life and therefore unavoidable.

Their is no place to hide from God; whether it is in the celestial world above or in the depths of hell below; God has already gone before us; leading the way.

Many operate without the slightest acknowledgment of His existence. That does not make Him disappear...! Fighting against the current of the creator is futile.

To recognize your creator and to rely upon Him daily doesn't make Him "show up". He's been right beside you all along.

To address the scope of His Lordship; to love Him; to rely upon His leadership puts you in line for thrilling, fulfilling, and victorious living.

Kind of like the kayak trying to forge upstream; the effort leads to little or no progress and certainly "no fun".
Welcoming and following the flow of Gods river of life for YOU leads to joy, peace & contentment.

Coldplay - Life In Technicolor ii

Zechariah 14
On that day there will be no light,no cold or frost. It will be a uniqueday, without daytime or nighttime—a day known to the Lord. When evening comes, there will be light.
On that day living water will flowout from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea[b] and half to the western sea,[c] in summer and in winter.
The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.

Time came a creepin'

Oh and time's a loaded gun

Every road is a ray of light

It goes on
Time only can lead you on
Still it's such a beautiful night

Oh love don't let me go

Won't you take me where the streetlights glow
I could hear it coming
Like a serenade of sound
Now my feet won't touch the ground

Gravity release me,

And don't ever hold me down
Now my feet won't touch the ground.

This is a hilarious video. I hope you enjoy it.

The song is sort of a continuation of "Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground".

It refers to light, bliss, and elation over the dramatic arrival of someone long awaited; like a bird swooping down.

This passage in Zechariah reminds me of these thoughts. The prophet is talking about the anticipation of their beloved deliverer coming...and sweeping them off their feet.

Their is coming a day called "The Day of the LORD". It's a reference to Gods timetable for the end of days,  heaven, and a realization of the promises that are in store for the saints.

Our finite minds can't wrap around all that God is preparing for us.
But I know my inheritance awaits. The prophet Malachi says of this day that when the son of righteousness appears, all believers will leap about like calves released from the stall.

You can know it too. Life in full blown technicolor.

John 10:10....I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground - Coldplay

Psalm 103

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
Praise the Lord, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Swoop down from the sky and catch me like the bird to prey

Now my feet won't touch the ground
Now my head won't stop
You wait a lifetime to be found
Now my feet won't touch the ground

Singing now my feet won't touch the ground

Many Coldplay songs imply redemption and transformation. Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground is no different.

Spiritually, the life altering and renewing that comes through a personal relationship with Christ resembles the lyrics of this tune.

Some of the adjectives that describe a relationship with God are: Shepherd, Redeemer, Friend, Deliverer, Savior, Lover of our Soul, Anchor, Rock, Master Builder, Comforter, Counselor, Rescuer, Door of Hope.

Walking with Christ Jesus won't cause you to levitate....however, the bond of fellowship that you enjoy can  make you feel lighter than air. Joy awaits...

WHAT'LL I DO - CHRIS BOTTI with PAULA COLE

Psalm 68:4-6

The Message (MSG) A David Psalm
68 1-4 Up with God!
    Down with his enemies!
        Adversaries, run for the hills!
Gone like a puff of smoke,
like a blob of wax in the fire—
one look at God and the wicked vanish.
When the righteous see God in action
    they’ll laugh, they’ll sing,
they’ll laugh and sing for joy.
Sing hymns to God;
    all heaven, sing out;
clear the way for the coming of Cloud-Rider.
Enjoy God,
    cheer when you see him!
5-6 Father of orphans,
    champion of widows,
is God in his holy house.
God makes homes for the homeless,
    leads prisoners to freedom,
but leaves rebels to rot in hell.

Gone is the romance that was so divine

'Tis broken and cannot be mended
You must go your way and I must go mine
But now that our love dreams have ended

(chorus)
What'll I do when you are far away
And I am blue, what'll I do?

This great Irvin Berlin song has been a classic for years.
Many will begin this day in loneliness and exclusion. Isolation and alienation from friends and loved ones is not a matter of choice for some...its a fact of life. If you are loved by another...count your blessings.

The benefits of knowing God and the fellowship with Christ are endless. God fills up the empty spaces of our heart and life with the comforting presence of His Holy Spirit.

Their will be days of emptiness but the righteous are never forsaken. The moments of void make us appreciate His fullness.

Come to Him...you will find His arms ready and waiting.
Feel His warm embrace...their is no greater satisfaction than to be loved by Him.

Coldplay - In My Place

2 Samuel 11
New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)

11 In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king’s men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.

One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, “Isn’t this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite?” Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her. (She had purified herself from her uncleanness.) Then[a] she went back home. The woman conceived and sent word to David, saying, “I am pregnant.”

In my place, in my place,
Were lines that I couldn't change,
I was lost, oh yeah.

I was lost, I was lost,
Crossed lines I shouldn't have crossed,
I was lost, oh yeah.

Yeah, how long must you wait for it?
Yeah, how long must you pay for it?
Yeah, how long must you wait for it?

Everyone knows what it feels like to cross over lines that shouldn't be crossed.
King David sure knew that well.

Not only did he make a fool of himself...he remained blinded to his mistake. It wasn't until the bold and devout prophet Nathan, who pointed out his transgression, did he recognized the ginormous sin and error of his ways.

Davids path toward repentance is clearly noted. His future leadership, although questioned by his sin, grew stronger and wiser. He confessed his sin and learned the lessons from obedience.....and disobedience.

Out of wrong....but through repentance....Bathsheba became the mother to the second greatest king in Israels history...Solomon. GRACE IS GREATER THAN ALL OUR SIN

God can use every part of you...mistakes and all...once we humble ourselves before Him.
Recognizing our sin and the need for the Lords help is key to growth.

Healing Rain - Michael W. Smith

Jeremiah 8:21-22

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
21 Since my people are crushed, I am crushed;
I mourn, and horror grips me.
22 Is there no balm in Gilead?
    Is there no physician there?
Why then is there no healing
for the wound of my people?

Is their healing today? Of course their is. Haven't you heard of those who declare, "no sign of cancer"?
Or what about those with other diseases and through medicine and treatment are cured?

Healing from the Lord is allowed through doctors and medicine...ALL by His will....and Holy Spirit...!!!
If its aspirin for the common cold or radiation for a tumor; the Lord God almighty has given it through His grace and wisdom.

But....in addition, the healing and victory that the Lord can bring into our life...through His great physician power can be the greatest, overwhelming, and life altering healing.

Deliverance from sin, addiction, impulses, alienation, fear, sadness, loneliness, anger, hostility, corruption, pride, selfishness, and all manner of evil, is the greatest, most liberating, and transforming healing of all.

Coldplay - Rainy Day

Mark 6

47 When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land. 48 He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them, 49 but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, 50 because they all saw him and were terrified.
Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” 51 Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down.

A popular pastor tells a story about leaving for work one morning and receiving a disturbing phone call.

It appeared that a piece of property that the church was scheduled to buy for expansion was, in scrupulous fashion and in opposition to the church, sold out from under them.

Moments later he stoped at a red light when out of the blue a motorist slammed into the back of him. With his car totaled he was forced to ride back with the wrecker service.

When he entered the cab of the truck, the driver was listening to talk radio. The caller was talking to the radio host about this particular pastor and his church; spewing out offensive language.

The pastor told of this story and stated that in one morning; just moments apart; he was
Upended
Rear ended and
Offended

The disciples certainly knew what rainy days were about. Often in these times, Jesus comes walking to us upon the wind and waves that threaten us.

Rainy days happen. It may be through something sinister; it may be random and without explanation. Whatever the case; we trust that the sun is shining on the other side.

Rainy days certainly make us appreciate the sunshine doesn't it?

Thank God that He keeps us close to His word and promises....even in the rainy days. Remember that our hope and confidence is in the Lord.

Keane - Everybody's Changing

Psalm 130

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord;
    O Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
    to my cry for mercy.
If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins,
    O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness;
    therefore you are feared.
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
My soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.
O Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
for with the Lord is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.
He himself will redeem Israel
    from all their sins.

People are changing. The world is changing.
BUT GOD IS STILL REACHING

Even with this suped up....reved up....fast paced world....God is reaching the lost sheep because of one constant: The need of the human heart has not changed!

In fact, the need for forgiveness, love, and reconcilliation is greater now than ever before in the history of the universe.

The world with all its glitz and glamour can leave the human heart completely bankrupt. Sin and alienation from God deteriorates every decent moral fabric of our being. Thus...our need to find peace and forgiveness increases. Grace is greater than all our sin and with God, all things are possible.

Romans 5:20

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
20 The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
