Coldplay - A Whisper

Psalm 55:1-3

The Message (MSG)
1-3 Open your ears, God, to my prayer;
don’t pretend you don’t hear me knocking.
Come close and whisper your answer.
    I really need you.
I shudder at the mean voice,
    quail before the evil eye,
As they pile on the guilt,
    stockpile angry slander.

The leadership & companionship that believers enjoy with God our heavenly Father is unique. Scripture tells us that God is spirit. True believers fellowship and commune with Him in a spiritual fashion.

Describing this supernatural relationship is like trying to describe...the wind. You hear it approaching...but you're unsure of its direction. You see the effects of the wind but you can't see it nor can you tell where it goes. However, you can feel it and undoubtedly have assurance that it exist.

God speaks to us in a spiritual...whisper. He moves our lives in the direction of His will and purpose. You can't see Him...but you have assurance of Him...and see the effects of His work; in you and others. You can hear His whisper...but you can't define to others how it happens. Their is no foolishness in faith...but to those outside of Gods family...these things are unacceptable and considered ignorance.

God is about faith...faith in His voice calling you; faith in His work in your life; faith in His existence...by what is seen and unseen.

Hebrews 11:1&6

English Standard Version (ESV)
1. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.   6.  And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Coldplay - Daylight

1 Peter 2:8-10

English Standard Version
8 [to some...He is]
“A stone of stumbling,
    and a rock of offense.”
They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Today is a brand new day. The sunrise has brought forth a new awakening and new dawning in the fellowship of His grace and peace.

Through a personal relationship with Christ...we are lifted out of the surly bonds of darkness into His marvelous light.

Christ Jesus is light...and love...and peace.

John 8:12
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Living joyously in the light means freedom from shame, guilt, and fear. Lovers of the light define those who are at peace with themselves and with God.

You too can come to the light of His love.

Coldplay - See You Soon

3 John 1:11-14
11 Dear friend,[g] do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God. 12 Demetrius has a good testimony from everyone, and from the truth itself. And we also testify for him, and you know that our testimony is true.
13 I have many things to write you, but I don’t want to write to you with pen and ink. 14 I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face.[h]
Peace be with you. The friends send you greetings. Greet the friends by name.

Being separated from those we love is not easy. Maintaining a positive outlook and upbeat tone when talking to them can be a challenge. You kind of get the idea of the phrase, "In a bullet proof vest with the windows all closed."

Whether its through military service, divorce, empty nest, to name only a few, we find ourselves longing for those we love. Its important to never lose your trust or your faith when separation becomes a fact of life.

Though our relationships are geographical....God is not. He walks with those you love just as He walks with you. The intimacy we enjoy with our heavenly father can surround those we love. He knows no boundaries.

Believe that God is with them.
Don't lose your trust.....!

Clocks - Coldplay

Philippians 2:12-13

The Message (MSG)
12-13 What I’m getting at, friends, is that you should simply keep on doing what you’ve done from the beginning. When I was living among you, you lived in responsive obedience. Now that I’m separated from you, keep it up. Better yet, redouble your efforts. Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure.

The line that really sticks out in Clocks is this..."Am I part of the cure or am I part of the disease?"
Time keeps ticking away for us all. Everyday we all climb back into our work, routines, assignments, and task. If we are not careful, the days all blend into one big, mundane, unfulfilled trap of repetition.

Through a relationship with Christ Jesus, He enables us, or rather equips us for our daily tasks by teaching us to perceive it as a mission. He commissions you as His ambassador to be salt and light, overcoming the darkness, bring love and hope to a lost world.

All of this is possible through His help and YOUR attitude.

Theirs a true story about a famous violinist who opened a concert at one of the premier venues in Europe. Crowds pressed in to hear him play Beethoven on a legendary Stradivarius violin. As the concert began, a string broke on the violin. The crowd was silenced when over the next few moments, 3 more strings broke on the Stradivarius, leaving only one. What happened next has gone done in history as one of the most amazing concert accomplishments.

After a brief pause and adjustment, for the next ten minutes, Niccolo Paganini stunned the audience in playing beautifully and majestically a Beethoven sonata on just ONE string.

It matters not about the nature of your adversity; your lack of provision; the size of your problems. What is important is for you to play on the one string you have. Its not about your performance, its about your attitude and your understanding of God. When we commit our life to Him....we are then TOUCHED by the masters hand.

Trouble - Coldplay

2 Timothy 4:9-16
Be diligent to come to me quickly; 10 for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia. 11 Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry. 12 And Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus. 13 Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come—and the books, especially the parchments.
14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works.15 You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted our words.
16 At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them.

Each time this passage is read I cant help but feel sad for the Apostle Paul. He was given a tough assignment and he fulfilled it with dignity and grace. However...their were some that brought vicious attacks against him; some physical; many verbal; all painful.

Jesus said to all of His disciples and to all believers throughout the centuries..."People will hate you on account of me."

Paul was and remains the most influential Christian man in history (outside of Christ).
His work blazed a trail for the church today. Satan and all his minions would not allow Paul to be without adversity.

When you face trouble; almost as if..."they spun a web for you", call upon Gods comforting spirit to guide you.

I can't imagine what Alexander the coppersmith did to Paul but it hurt him deeply.
People will hurt you too and it doesn't even have to be on account of....anything....really.

What is important is for you to know that Gods got your back...provided you have enough sense to call upon His strength and wisdom. He may not deliver...but he will empower you to be comforted.

Job 38

The Message (MSG)
And now, finally, God answered Job from the eye of a violent storm. He said:
2-11 “Why do you confuse the issue?
Why do you talk without knowing what you’re talking about?
Pull yourself together, Job!
Up on your feet! Stand tall!
I have some questions for you,
and I want some straight answers.
Where were you when I created the earth?
Tell me, since you know so much!
Who decided on its size? Certainly you’ll know that!
Who came up with the blueprints and measurements?
How was its foundation poured,
    and who set the cornerstone,
While the morning stars sang in chorus
and all the angels shouted praise?
And who took charge of the ocean
when it gushed forth like a baby from the womb?
That was me! I wrapped it in soft clouds,
and tucked it in safely at night.
Then I made a playpen for it,
a strong playpen so it couldn’t run loose,
And said, ‘Stay here, this is your place.
Your wild tantrums are confined to this place.’

This is a remarkable and profound discourse between God & Job regarding the wonders of Gods world and who created it all.

Everyone agrees that the universe is amazing. All of creation is a daily display of the awesomeness of God. The discourse of God with Job continues on for several chapters. After He explains the atmosphere, the seas, and the stars, He then turns His attention to the land creatures of the earth.

It appears that God himself is impressed with His own creation.

Sadly, some deny the creator and explain the wonders of the universe with science.
Reading the book of Job would certainly make light of the theories we hear today.
I mean....think about it. Only God could make ALL this  R I G H T ...every time.

If you were to dissect the wonders involved in the creation & birth of one human being...the mysteries are unfathomable.

Its good to praise God and be in awe of who He is, what He has done, and what is to come.

Brothers and Sisters - Coldplay

Psalm 133:1-3

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)

How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head  running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard,  down upon the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon  were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.

You have a biological family and if you know Christ...you have a spiritual family. To become a member of your family you must be born or adopted into it. Membership into Gods family carries the same requirement.

Jesus said that any person that believed in Him is given the right to be called a child of God.
He also told Nicodemus that we must be born again...from the Holy Spirit of God...to become a member in Gods family. This happens when you receive Christ into your life as your Lord and Savior.

Now just as important it is when a family unit enjoys harmony and peace, the family of God should live in unity as well.

Those redeemed by the blood of Christ should live in unity. When this happens...its a beautiful picture. Its as the  anointing of the priest Aaron and the dew of Hermon descending on Mt. Zion. I don't know what these look like but to God...it must be a beautiful thing.

Live in harmony with your brothers and sisters. It makes God very happy.

Square One - Coldplay

Hebrews 5:11-14

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)

11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Christian maturity begins with growing healthy and strong in the rich wholesome word of God.

Gods word is alive. It impacts the life of a child of God in a way that supersedes anything else. Through memory verses, deep studies, scripture songs, reading plans, we soon realize that we are not just merely reading Gods word...it is reading us.

Scripture says of itself that it divides the soul; judges our thoughts and intentions; acts as a mirror by reflecting who were are inside.

Growing in the meat and the milk of Gods word is mandatory. Through it we become healthy, wise, and all things spiritual that God desires for us

Got Milk?

Rihanna - Diamonds

Philippians 2:14-15

New Century Version (NCV)
14 Do everything without complaining or arguing. 15 Then you will be innocent and without any wrong. You will be God's children without fault. But you are living with crooked and mean people all around you, among whom you shine like stars in the dark world.

It can be intimidating to know that as children of God we stick out like a bright light or Shine Bright Like A Diamond.

As part of this world; but not of it, we are forced to play by its rules. We get frustrated in traffic jams and long lines like everyone else. The high cost of living can be a real downer at times. The struggles and issues of life can appear out of the blue and reek havoc on our routines.

However, out of all the things we are exposed too on a daily basis, only 10% is non-adjustable. The remaining 90% can be adjusted and that is our attitude. We are in control of our attitude and that is what impacts those around us.

That is the reason for having the mind of Christ. He enables us to shine bright like a diamond. Our attitude must be like Him.

Philippians 2:5

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

Chris Botti - When I Fall in Love (Live)

1 Corinthians 12:
11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines. 12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by[c] one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
14 Now the body is not made up of one part but of many

Have you ever heard a true Jazz session? Well you're about to.

Jazz music is about the unique contribution and response to rhythm from each instrument. That's why true jazz does not have a soloist. The emphasis is to be on the blending of a unit; not a focus on one.

The body of Christ; working as it should is like great jazz music. The body; all working together; like music that knows no boundaries.

The working of the church; as each part of the body fulfills their work; makes a harmony of work and worship that fulfills the great commandment and great commission of our lord.

Ephesians 4:16

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Romanza - Andrea Bocelli ( Live in Tuscany )

John 11:24-26

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

In the English translation Bocelli is singing about two lives that are separated in death; a Romeo & Juliet kind of love where one doesn't care to exist without the other.

Its understandable how two lives can become one; in the loss of one, the remaining feels incomplete.

For two people to be equally yoked together means that both are children of God. God loves us so much that when we lose a loved one that belonged to Him we have the assurance of seeing them again.

Jesus proved this to Mary and Martha. They loved Lazarus too much to see him depart. Because of the resurrection power of the Lord Jesus Christ we experience only a momentary separation. In fact its not even a loss when we know Him as Savior.

Jesus raised Lazarus from the tomb and gave him back to his family. Death is swallowed up in victory when we know Christ as our Savior and Lord.

However, in the course of time Lazarus died again, but Jesus had made His point about the promise of eternal life and a heavenly reunion for all those that believed in His name.

In Gods love their is no fear. No anxiety of separation in Him, only a calm assurance that all who call upon His name will stand before Him on that day. One big happy family; and we will sing worthy is the lamb that was slain for our sins. Worthy to receive power, glory, honor, and majesty.

Viva La Vida - Coldplay

Daniel 2:20-23

The Message (MSG)
19-23 That night the answer to the mystery was given to Daniel in a vision. Daniel blessed the God of heaven, saying,
“Blessed be the name of God,
    forever and ever.
He knows all, does all:
He changes the seasons and guides history,
He raises up kings and also brings them down,
he provides both intelligence and discernment,
He opens up the depths, tells secrets,
sees in the dark—light spills out of him!
God of all my ancestors, all thanks! all praise!
You made me wise and strong.
And now you’ve shown us what we asked for.
    You’ve solved the king’s mystery.”

Daniel might have been treading on dangerous ground in telling King Nebuchadnezzar the interpretation to his dream. Daniel appealed to not only the disturbance that King Neb. felt but also to his wisdom.

The king knew that nothing last forever. When Daniel revealed to him that his dream meant that their would be leaders that followed behind him, men that would one day set upon the very throne that King Nebuchadnezzar occupied, he wasn't angry. In fact, he rejoiced over a man who told him the truth.

Its wise to learn the principle of CHANGE. People change with the seasons. Our lives grow with these changes. In a year we lose family and friends we dearly love. We gain new members of our inner circle. Life and the impact it has on the human soul and spirit changes people. Attitudes change, church paradigms change, leadership changes.......however, God does not.

The hope that allows us to move forward amidst an ever changing world is that God never changes. The same God that governed Nebuchadnezzar is that same God that governs our lives. Just as He fashioned the people and their spirit to adjust and modify to the revolving world around them...He too prepares our life for the alterations of life as it adjust and changes around us.

Thank God He equips us for what is ahead. I don't know what tomorrow holds but I know who holds my hand.

Skyfall - Adele

Luke 6:47-49

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
47 I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice.48 He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

Only the best of the best get to do a Bond song...ehh
Adele was a perfect fit for Skyfall....I'm sure winning the 2012 Grammy for Rolling In The Deep helped...a little.

The movie Skyfall is one of the best Bond films ever. It gets back to the basic 007 props - from Moneypenny to Q and all the rest. Not to mention the special effects of carnage, car chases, and explosions.

When your world comes crashing in all around you...where do you turn?

Of course its always a blessed thing to have loyal friends and family when trouble comes. However, the strength necessary to thrive and survive the storms of life rests not in your network of friends but in the condition of your foundation.

Any size structure can be restored as long as the foundation is intact. When the footings are compromised, it becomes a total disaster.

The Lord Jesus is urging us to build upon the foundation of His principals, values, ideals, character, love, hope, and so on.

When the storms of life overtake the child of God who has structurally built their life upon the firm foundation of Christ, they persevere. The solid rock of our Lord enables us to endure...the fire...the flood...the Skyfall.

Unless the LORD build the house.....we labor in vain.

A Thousand Years - Christina Perri

Revelation 20:4-6
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God.They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

Its hard to imagine loving someone for a thousand years. Its harder still to imagine reigning with Christ, on earth for a thousand years.

This occurs prior to heaven with the gates of pearl, walls of jasper, and streets of gold. According to scripture, the beloved saints of God; all those who've received Christ Jesus as Lord and savior; the children of God, will occupy the entire earth and rule over all its inhabitants.

This era is where the lion will play with the lamb; the child will lay at the den of the adder; the curse upon the world and all the evil that comes as the result of sin and fallen mankind will be lifted.

Just imagine 1,000 years on earth when all the bad stuff doesn't exist. In that day, their will be a reversal of what you see now. Satan will not tempt (he will be locked up in the abyss), doors unlocked, sickness will be extinct, sorrow and sadness will be a faint memory.

I'm not skilled enough to explain all the details of the Millennial Reign, but I believe in it. It appears to be a thousand years of paradise on earth. A season to enjoy the royal reign on earth of the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, Jesus Christ our Savior.

Coldplay - Fix You

Luke 15:17-18

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)

17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

This son of mine was dead; and is alive again.
That's the ultimate FIX

We can find our missing piece in another soul mate; our life can take on a new meaning with the love of another; we can feel invincible through the bond of a relationship. But all these pale in comparison to the completion we find in the forgiveness of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The power of Christ is in His ability to forgive sins and to bring us into holy union with God.

In sin we are dead. In Christ we are born again into new life.
To receive this new life gives us the right to be called children of God.

All our iniquity and transgressions separate us from God. Our sin divides us from Him. Through Christ we find a new birth and a cleansing from all that separates us from the Father. We are now brought near to God as his children.

Jesus says, "Come to me...I will FIX YOU."

Strawberry Swing - Coldplay

Psalm 42

The Message (MSG)
1-3 A white-tailed deer drinks
    from the creek;
I want to drink God,
    deep draughts of God.
I’m thirsty for God-alive.
I wonder, “Will I ever make it—
arrive and drink in God’s presence?”

Now the sky could be blue

I don't mind
Without you it's a waste of time
Could be blue

I don't mind
Without you it's a waste of time
Could be blue,
Could be grey
Without you I'm just miles away

Passion for God goes a long way. The psalmist David was the ultimate seeker. His desire to know God; to bask in the glory of His presence; to experience God in the most intimate way was his lifelong ambition.

David was known as a man after Gods own heart. This testimony of the shepherd who became king reveals the strength of his reign.

At one point, at a time of spiritual weakness, David decided he would count his mighty men. He literally ordered a census to be done, listing the military warriors who had pledged their life to King David.

This angered God. David was puzzled by Gods disappointment. God explained to him through the prophet that by counting the "mighty men", David was sending a message to the children of Israel that he trusted more in his warriors than he did in Yahweh God.

It was a subtle error. Once he realized the poor witness of his actions, David quickly repented and re-assured God that he was still number one in his life..."A man after Gods heart."

Just as a deer seeks out the refreshing water of the spring....even so David renewed his passion for the refreshing spring of Gods favor and anointing.

Paradise Lyrics - Coldplay

Luke 23:42-44

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.[a]
43 Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Jesus’ Death

44 It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour,

Paradise....The declaration from Jesus to the thief on the cross has to be one of the most comforting statements He ever made.

Just think about it...the thief was down to his last hour on planet earth. Death was imminent as he endured the finality of his punishment. The record of his faith in Christ Jesus has extended hope to a countless number of sinners for millennium.

His last thoughts were..."I will close my eyes in death....and I will awaken in paradise with the Lord."

This is our testimony too. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord...in Paradise.

Glass Of Water - Coldplay

Acts 17:22-24

New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
22 Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: “Men of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. 23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.
24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.

The desire for worship is intrinsic. God created us with the need for a relationship with the divine. Oswald Chambers said that in every human heart their is a God shaped void that only God can fill.

Sadly enough, the adversary and father of lies has led many to pursue false Gods. Some even pursue superstition (such as your future in a glass of water) in an attempt to satisfy the need for worship.

Paul encountered this when he saw in Athens a statue to the "Unknown God". This was erected by the Grecians in an effort to acknowledge any God that they may have missed.

Paul picked up on their sentiment and declared the Lord Jesus Christ to all the listeners.
Christ only satisfies the need of the human heart.

Acts 4:12
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Coldplay - For You

1 Thesalonians 2:17-20

17 But, brothers, when we were torn away from you for a short time (in person, not in thought), out of our intense longing we made every effort to see you. 18 For we wanted to come to you—certainly I, Paul, did, again and again—but Satan stopped us. 19 For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you? 20 Indeed, you are our glory and joy.

The Apostle made it plain and clear; everything he did was on account of the church.
Their is no greater satisfaction than to know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Not often do we see the fruits of our labor. Some have served the Lord their entire life and have not seen the harvest for which they have longed.

Our work for the Lord is never in vain.
The impact of our work for Him may never be known UNTIL we stand before Him.

Oh the joy of seeing those around the throne of glory that came to know Christ because of something; some work; some effort that we have done.

Its all for you
