Coldplay - Rainy Day

Mark 6

47 When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land. 48 He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them, 49 but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, 50 because they all saw him and were terrified.
Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” 51 Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down.

A popular pastor tells a story about leaving for work one morning and receiving a disturbing phone call.

It appeared that a piece of property that the church was scheduled to buy for expansion was, in scrupulous fashion and in opposition to the church, sold out from under them.

Moments later he stoped at a red light when out of the blue a motorist slammed into the back of him. With his car totaled he was forced to ride back with the wrecker service.

When he entered the cab of the truck, the driver was listening to talk radio. The caller was talking to the radio host about this particular pastor and his church; spewing out offensive language.

The pastor told of this story and stated that in one morning; just moments apart; he was
Upended
Rear ended and
Offended

The disciples certainly knew what rainy days were about. Often in these times, Jesus comes walking to us upon the wind and waves that threaten us.

Rainy days happen. It may be through something sinister; it may be random and without explanation. Whatever the case; we trust that the sun is shining on the other side.

Rainy days certainly make us appreciate the sunshine doesn't it?

Thank God that He keeps us close to His word and promises....even in the rainy days. Remember that our hope and confidence is in the Lord.
