Fix You - Coldplay

John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

This is it....because He lives....you too can live.
Viva La Vida

Christ Jesus lived sinless and pure to be Gods spotless sacrifice for sin.
He died for you....and me.

He arose from the grave having defeated sin and death. He arose because He died my death...not His. He was without sin.

He took my death...
Arose for my victory...

To receive him is this....

Romans 10:9

New International Version (NIV)
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved.

Coldplay - Paradise (Live 2012 from Paris)

Luke 23:42-44

New International Version (NIV)
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.[a]
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

O yes He did....He said it....to the thief on the cross.

What a beautiful picture of His salvation to all of us. His love knows no limit or boundary.

In his dying breath, the thief trusted in the resurrection and the life. Jesus honored His commitment to save and redeem....even in HIS dying breath.

You can experience His forgiveness today. No matter who you are, where you are, or what you've done. Call unto Him....see for yourself.

Coldplay - Harmless ( Full Version )

Psalm 139:7-10
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

A knee jerk reaction to failure or trouble is to quit or escape.
However...the valleys of decision lead to growth, strength, and character.

The strength of King David is derived from his experiences on the mountain peaks and valleys of life's journey.

God will strengthen you even in the presence of your enemies....Your cup will overflow.

Don't run....rest.

Coldplay - The Hardest Part

Matthew 4:18-20

New International Version (NIV)

Jesus Calls His First Disciples

18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,”Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him.

The hardest part is letting go....
Some have said, "Adapt or Die....."

Following Christ means that you will go places you've never dreamed or expected. Dropping your nets...forsaking all....may be your hardest part.

Its physically and spiritually impossible to carry you JUNK while following Him.
The hardest part may be letting go...

He will replace what has been sacrificed to Him. It may be with peace and joy unimaginable.

He will supply all your needs with His riches in glory.

Where Is My Boy by Coldplay/Faultine

Genesis 3:8
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Why would we hide from God?
According to Adam....he was ashamed; saw his nakedness; knew he had sinned against God.

Its part of our nature, when something unpleasant or uncomfortable arises, to cover it up; avoid; or maybe even hide.

Part of our spiritual consciousness is that we know or sense when we have sinned against our heavenly Father. The impulse is to hide or cover it up. The right decision is to talk with God....confess....and experience His unconditional love and forgiveness.

Prospekt's March - Coldplay

Psalm 46

New International Version (NIV)
God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God...

Can you find your own separate sky? A place that lifts you out of a self-destructive rut?

Its impossible for me to do this without the Lords help.
Here are some things that help me; a spiritual technique that keeps me out of the drone category; especially when I'm my own worst enemy.

Call out to God; ask Him to be near you.
Resist the devils taunting.
Sacrifice something...perhaps a hobby, a habit, a routine; for a time being. Another words...temporarily change something and make it a spiritual matter.

God will rescue you....that means at times...even from yourself.

What If - Coldplay

Daniel 6:19-21
19 At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions’ den. 20 When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?”
21 Daniel answered, “May the king live forever! 22 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.”

What if...Daniel had not survived the lions den?
But he did.

God is always able...regardless of the what if....we trust Him.
The mystery of His will is just that.....a mystery.

Our obedience to Him is not a mystery. Only that we be found faithful in whatever He sends our way.
Follow Him....His yoke is easy....and burden light.

In My Place - Coldplay

Romans 12:1-2

New International Version (NIV)

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

You may not particularly like the place your in at the present. It may be the relationship you're in has gone sour, or perhaps a few destructive habits have developed.

Whatever "Place" you're in....it can change.
It begins with the help of the Lord.

You can do all things through Christ who strengthens YOU!!!

To have something you've never had before....you have to do something you've never done before.

Change....and surrender to HIM.

Life In Technicolor - Coldplay

Ecclesiastes 11:9
You who are young, be happy while you are young,
and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
Follow the ways of your heart
    and whatever your eyes see,
but know that for all these things
God will bring you into judgment.

Life's Good....with the Lord.
He helps us discern what is the better choice in this sea of choices we face everyday.

Serving Him means....we are covered by grace and given liberty to do, explore, experience. However, we may be called into question if what we do serves only....US.....and not HIM.

Live for God....LOUD & In Technicolor.

Charlie Brown - Coldplay

Joshua 24:15

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

This song...LIVE...will blow you away!!!

Choices...
Options....
God, in his infinite love for us, gives us a free will to choose.

He is big enough to heal our mistakes...He's God enough to let us bear the scar's of many foolish ones; as a reminder of life outside of His will.

Choose today....who you will serve.
Now...what do you plan to do about it?

Violet Hill - Coldplay

1 John 2:15-17

New International Version (NIV)

On Not Loving the World

15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

The world is comprised of a WHOLE bunch of folks that think like....you!
Can you imagine what this world would be like if everyone thought and acted like you?

Truth is...we are all sinners; driven by selfish motives; motivated by personal gain.

Through Christ we are rescued from....OURSELVES.
At times we all get it wrong at the same time. That tends to lead to bad policies, headlines, and records.

Where would we be today had it not been for our Savior Jesus Christ the Lord?

We Never Change - Coldplay

Matthew 18:2-4

New International Version (NIV)
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Their is some change required when it comes to having a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. That change is in our perception and our thinking.

A child is fully trusting of his/her parent. Seldom doubting; often and blindly following without question. Trusting wholly in rest, protection, and nourishment.

When it comes to a salvation experience through Christ...children aren't saved like adults...!!!!
ADULTS ARE SAVED LIKED CHILDREN.

We must all learn to trust and believe the God who is invisible yet exists to redeem us, protect us, and restore us daily.

Change is goooooood

Imagine Dragons - It's Time

Isaiah 61:1

New International Version (NIV)

The Year of the Lord’s Favor

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,

Jesus quoted this passage in the Gospel of Luke as a direct prophetic fulfillment of His ministry.

The time has come...it is here. The year of grace and the Lords favor. Oh the things He can do for you and me if we will come to Him and receive His gift of life. He will abundantly pardon.

The first thing to happen is ...HE DOES CHANGE WHO WE ARE!!!

Not the other way around.
We become a new creation; cleansed, forgiven, renewed.

Talk - Coldplay

Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.

God extends an invitation for us to talk; to reason.

We know all to the well..........the feeling of lostness.

Their is a void in every human heart that only God can fill.
He invites us to reason; to think about it; to talk to Him;  though our sin and transgression is obvious....He will cleanse and renew.

In Christ...we become a new creation.

Talk to Him. He is waiting.

Coldplay - Paradise (Tyler Ward Acoustic Cover)

Psalm 23

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Lord is my shepherd;

I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.

He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

You need to know this Psalm; in fact....you need to memorize it.
Ps. 23 gives one of the very first, OT glimpse of heaven or paradise.

King David knew; without any doubt or uncertainty, that he would be with God his father throughout all eternity.

David was captivated by the thought of heaven. At one point, when he lost his own child in death, King David spoke a refrain that has been repeated for centuries...

" I cannot bring him to me; but I can go to him."

Paradise is real. It is an eternal home for the people of God

Of Monsters and Men - Little Talks

Matthew 26:38-40

New International Version (NIV)
38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”
39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter.

Even our Lord needed others...especially on the night of His betrayal and arrest.

Peter, James, and John couldn't grasp the importance of Jesus' request. Weariness and their own needs were more important at the time. They failed Him that evening in the garden; one they would never forget.

At times...we simply need each other. It may be to sit and talk or pray; or perhaps to just be there....not speaking but listening.

Help bear someones burden.

Til Kingdom Come - Coldplay - Cover By The Autumn Film - Official Music Video

Isaiah 43:1-3

Darby Translation (DARBY)
43 But now thus saith Jehovah, that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee, I have called [thee] by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I [will be] with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I [am] Jehovah thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour...

I believe you will enjoy this cover by The Autumn Film.
Once again...Coldplay delivers some powerful imagery in their lyrics.

Hold my head inside your hands
I need someone who understands
I need someone, someone who hears
For you, I've waited all these years

For you I'd wait 'til kingdom come
Until my day, my day is done
And say you'll come and set me free
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me

In your tears and in your blood
In your fire and in your flood
I hear you laugh, I heard you sing
I wouldn't change a single thing

From the first time I heard this song I imagined it as my prayer to my heavenly Father.
Certainly He will rescue His children. He will not abandon His own.

Till Kingdom Come!!

Fix You - Coldplay - Acoustic Cover by Tyler Ward & Boyce Avenue

Psalm 51:16-17

New International Version (NIV)

You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.

My sacrifice, O God, is[a] a broken spirit;
    a broken and contrite heart
    you, God, will not despise.

Our hearts can be easily shattered and torn to pieces by the harshness of life. From relationships to dreams; the moment we lay our hearts on the line, we risk having it broken.

God draws extremely near to us when we are broken.
It has been said that in our darkest valleys; God is working the hardest to do something extraordinary in our life.

He is touched by the feelings of our hardships and brokenness.
Allow the Lord to "Fix You".

Coldplay - Everythings Not Lost (Live 2003)

Matthew 11:28-30

The Message (MSG)
28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

We are told that any choice which offers a "win win" result...should be the logical choice.

Responding to Christ's invitation is a "win win"

We gain rest from our worry; strength for our journey; wisdom for life; and insight for living...and then we gain eternity with Him.

In fact...you win, your family wins, and even your friends win. The new you that is shaped and loved by Christ impacts your entire circle.

Nothing is lost when you have a relationship with Christ.
He takes all our mistakes and by His grace...makes something beautiful.

James Morrison - I Won't Let You Go

Isaiah 53:3-5

New International Version (NIV)
He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
Surely he took up our pain
    and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
    stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

You will Enjoy this great hit by James Morrison.

The imagery of this song and what the Lord has done for us is powerful. He laid His life down for us.

The scripture says that He carried our sorrows; He bore our grief. Later on in this passage it says that the Lord Christ did something very remarkable...the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him.

In other words; the punishment for sin is death; Jesus Christ took our death upon Himself; dying in our place upon the cross.

When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming to him in the muddy Jordon he said, "behold the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world".

He loves you and me that much.
Reach out to Him. He is not far from you. He is as near as the mention of His name.
HE WONT LET YOU GO

OneRepublic - Feel Again

Romans 8:15-17

The Message (MSG)

15-17 This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!

How often have you sensed another soul....and felt their spirit?

One would have to be very sensitive to feel it?

Spiritually...you must be attune to God, your heavenly father, to feel the kindred, spiritual bond, between you and another believer.

Their are many that never think along these lines; when meeting others or listening to friends. Sensing or feeling a kindred or Christlike spirit requires your own personal fellowship with God.

Deepen your dependence on Gods Spirit; to guide you; to lead you.
Feel Again!!

James Morrison - Broken Strings ft. Nelly Furtado

Jeremiah 2:12-13

King James Version (KJV)
12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord.
13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

Some things get broken; beyond repair and ruined.
Relationships, possessions, promises, and position can all be easily broken.

Israel broke their commitment with God their father and chose another path. The choice was to leave the perfect love of God and "broken cisterns" instead.
In other words...they broke up with God.

Thank God that in Christ we have a permanent position in the family of God; one that cant be broken.

John 6:37

English Standard Version (ESV)
37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.
