Lovers In Japan - Coldplay

2 Timothy 2: 1-5
You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs—he wants to please his commanding officer. Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor’s crown unless he competes according to the rules.

Viva La Vida album confirmed my suspicion that Coldplay was up to something divine with their music.

As a student, you know what it means to have discipline; applying your mind to study, work your part time job, write papers, keep up with your cell bill, etc,. Giving up is not an option. Laziness can undermine everything your working toward. Your familiar with the one that always takes the easy way out. Remember the guy from last semester?

Perseverance is the motto for athlete's, soldiers, and even farmers. They know that if they keep on with their regiment of training and preparing that eventually they will enjoy the fruit of their labor.

Your spiritual walk is no different.
Practicing the fundamentals of spiritual success will eventually reap dividends that are immeasurable.

These routines are:
Reading Gods word and applying it to your life.
Sharing your blessings with others.
Kindness toward others, even when they are unkind to you.
Loving others, especially the unlovely.
Supporting; giving to the Lords work.
Speaking the truth. Avoiding gossip and backbiting.
Honoring those in authority; including mom & pop.

Shortcuts to spiritual progress is like the sloppy athlete who expects to be world class while skipping workouts.

Now is the time to soldier on, to pace yourself in the run. The finish line is just ahead. Don't stop now.
Keep On Keeping On

Lovers, keep on the road you're on
Runners, until the race is run
Soldiers, you've got to soldier on
Sometimes even right is wrong

 1 Corinthians 9:24-25
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
